Default How to write a good article.

I am interested to know what makes you carry on reading a full article, I see some articles that people have written and the way they have written them makes them very interesting but I can’t think why.

What would you think the reason for this could be?

Another question is if I was going to write an article about something what would you say is a good length of text, I mean is 200 words to short and is 1000 words to long.

The lenth would really only count on what the article is about, you could write about 1000 words on an article that would be able to be said in 200 words.

To make people intrested then that would depend on the people you target as there would be no point in writing an article on SEO if your visitors where intrested in cars

I dont like reading long articles my self i like short and sweet

Good Questions!

Well in my opinion it is a process that is simiular to a chain reaction

First - Snag their interest with a very catchy title and article summary!
Because lets face it, the internet is a sea of information out there and just what is going to get your article read as one passes by is a very catchy title.

Take for example
Free ! million dollars for a title is going to get passed over quicky!
and another one is " I made a million dollars" is going to be passed quickly! but now try this one and tell me what you think?

Woman Makes over 1 million - Experts Amazed

Using 2nd parties to your writing is much more effective!

Ok There You Go - that is round 1

I agree with a lot of the suggestions so far. Here's my take on writing a good article:
1) Catch your readers' attention from the very first line
2)Keep the momentum going- don't stray from the point, get too wordy or anything like that
3) Keep it real eg. I have no great knowledge about medicine, but I love it if a site breaks it down and makes it easy for me to understand.
4) Make it conversational, so that your readers feel like you're right there talking to them
5) Be creative. It's hard to find good stuff nowadays. Everything just seems to be recycled.
6) Just like your beginning, have a good ending too.

Well, it depends on your purpose. Who is your target group and what are they interested in reading? For I, myself, prefer an interesting article which is not too long. However, if the article is meant to be long, you should break them into smaller paragraphs.

I usually use the pencil and paper.. Make sure the pencil is extra sharp. blow on it every 2 minutes to release any static energy.

LOL ether.

I have worked in this industry in the past (I mean article writing) and I found that most webmasters ask for short/middle length articles- between 300 to 500 words.

Don not stuff the articles with keywords, it makes the article boring and drives visitors away.

Most clients prefer the article to be in the "tip" format (i.e.- the articles starts with an introduction and develops in little and useful tips regarding the issue; a good example are articles like " Tips to stop smoking", "tips to buy a new house" etc etc etc"

Again, it depends what you want the article for; is it to help you in SEO? Is it to sell a product?
