Is there a way to make a php count down clock, and maybe make it look good as well

But not in 24 hour format

If you mean a live count down ie the time counting down with out a refresh. Not possible i am afraid php is server side, in the the page is rendered then sent to the browser and to alter it the page would need to be re-rendered ie refreshed. Javascript is more suitable for this

Yer just people are wary of it and it tends to be turned off by people.

that would be know good for me, maybe I could use flash but its the same again I am no good at flash

Javascript or Flash would be the best options for this. Although people can turn off Javascript, in my experience only like 2% to 5% do. So JS is probably your best option. Also, you don't need to go and write this yourself, you can find dozens already written on Google.

There are plenty of Flash countdown tickers out there. Keep searching and you'll probably find a free 1. If you're good at coding learn some actionscript and build it yourself.

You could probably make a dodgy PHP countdown ticker that refreshes every minute with a cron job.
