| Member Level 1 | Hello all first post After testing my site on my apache localhost (where everything worked perfectly) i then moved everything to my hosting provider. NOW i get this error message syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' I am using PEAR and have required the PEAR DB.php, hosting account has provided me with the full path. im using public $db which is the only peice of code on the line that the error points to and im using public functions. what in the world could cause this its realy bugging me My hosting provider uses php4 and php5. Im also using Smarty plugins for the first time but all seemed to be working fine on apache. Please someone help! Im a php noob and this is well beyond what i know about php is it a php4 php5 together thing that is the problem. I can give my code just not sure if people like code posted Thanks in advance all! | ||

| Member Level 1 | i got this sorted now i used intitialy a htaccess file that was wrong for the hosting account used this one SetEnv DEFAULT_PHP_VERSION 5 and all was sorted
