| Does anyone know of an editor for editing PHP source code that is a little more intuitive than "notepad". Maybe even something with the Microsoft VisualStudio feel? Geze, if I could find one that good I might even be willing to pay for it! :-) Thanks in advance, Stan | |||

Geze, if I could find one that good I >might even be willing to pay for it! :-) I'm actually doing all my PHP code in UltraEdit-32 (www.ultraedit.com) as we speak, it's got syntax highlighting (providing that you update your settings for it, atleast in my version). You can also configure it to run your scripts through php.exe (or anything else for that matter) and neatly get the output in a new file/"debug" window or just disgard it. It has auto-indentation too. =) I use this editor for C/C++ (dos/console), java, php, html.. you name it.. I've been using notepad and dosedit before but it was actually Visual Studio that made me set higher requirements. Try it out. =) | |||

| I agree - especially when you can do Unix like reg-ex type search snd replace, create templates, macros and in the latest version it auto-corrects keywords. Oh, and you can save via FTP :-) I even managed to pay for my copy! regards, Mikey "Minds are like parachutes: most people use them only as a last resort." - Ben Ostrowsky > -----Original Message----- > From: Daniel Gustafsson [mailto:cloaked@hem.passagen.se] > Sent: 07 June 2000 13:32 > To: php-windows@lists.php.net > Subject: Re: [PHP-WINDOWS] Nice editor for PHP > > > >Does anyone know of an editor for editing PHP source code that is a > >little more intuitive than "notepad". There are some parts that seem to be incomplete, but I haven't noticed any problems. Someone else mentioned an editor that allows you to run your scripts through the PHP engine. Does anyone know of an editor that has taken advantage of the new Zend engine, as in using it in an IDE? | |||

| bugs: rename your document, and check the name in the project window: doesn't change. And it just gives error messages and quites 10 times a day, which is ofcourse very irritating. It's the best program, but when it quits 10 times a day you simply stop using it :-(. | Member Level 3 | The editor I used an liked the most is dreamweaver. Not so much for the editing but for the built in ftp and managing multiple projects. | ||
