Default php_gd.dll - More problems

Hiya,

I downloaded the php_gd.dll, php_zlib.dll and zlib.dll, and installed them
into the php dir (w:\usr\php\). The php dir is in the system path. I've
written a little script as below, and when I execute is though command
terminal (WinNT4 SP6a), I get an output.

---script-----------------------------
<?php
dl ("php_gd.dll");
Header("Content-type: image/png\n\n");
$im = ImageCreate(75,16);
$red = ImageColorAllocate($im, 220, 0, 0);
$black = ImageColorAllocate($im, 0, 0, 0);
ImageFill($im, 0,0, $black);
ImagePng($im);
ImageDestroy($im);
?>
--------------------------------------

---output-----------------------------
X-Powered-By: PHP/4.0.0
Content-type: text/html

--------------------------------------

I've installed PHP v4.0.0 as a module (application/x-httpd-php for .php
..php3 .php4) on Apache (1.3.12), as set it up accordingly. It's all working
fine, but if I try and call the above script though IE5 and NN6 (well,
Mozilla Seamonkey M15) the Apache thread running the script crashes,
although Apache itself doesn't crash.

To try and get the best of both worlds, I've also go PHP v4.0.0 set up as
CGI (application/x-httpd-php-cgi for .phtm .phtml). Now, if I try and call
the same script through the CGI setup, it runs fine.

I've tried to uncomment the php_gd.dll line in the php.ini, but to try and
start the server causes it to crash, unable to start.

Any ideas? If you want more information or anything, contact me.
