| I run three different environments currently for testing: nt4server/iis4/php4; nt4workstation/pws/php4; and win2kpro/iis5/php4 I tried to use Frank's compiled extensions from download.swwwing.com and was also unsuccessful. PHP4 responded to the attempt to load those extensions with the error message: "Warning: Invalid library (maybe not a PHP library)". I would prefer to use PHP4, but the pre-packaged extensions in the binary distribution just aren't enough to get the job done. I have currently gone back to PHP 3.0.16 to get some things done. I don't have enough C++ experience to build the extensions myself and also don't have MSVC++. Does anyone know if the PHP "Powers That Be" plan on releasing these compiled extensions as they did with PHP3? If not, where can we get these extensions? This seems to be the question on a lot of peoples' minds... including mine. Thanks, -wes | |||

I got the php_gd.dll from http://download.swwwing.com/ (Their php_gd.dll requires the zlib.dll) (Among most of the others) to load by doing some minor changes in the php.ini -file: - commented the "extensions_dir = ./" away - included the full path to the extension <SNIP> ; extension_dir = . ; directory in which the loadable extensions (modules)reside ; there seems to be something fishy about this in php 4 beta,it ; includes alway an extra / in the path and the extensiona are not found ; except if you type "c:\php40\php.exe -i > info.htm" and check it out ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; ; Dynamic Extensions ; ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; extension=c:\\php40\\php_gd.dll </SNIP> If you wish to check my PHP-info go to: http://trolli.taivas.com/info.htm Wille | |||
