| Greetings! I've been struggling with this for hours and am finally asking for help. Everything works fine in NN7. I have a form with text boxes which are filled in via a call to MySQL. Since I don't know the number of rows returned in advance I created variables to use as names. Then, depending upon the radio button selection, different types of validation is done before the data goes back into a MySQL database. code for the radio buttons: echo "<tr>"; // grouped radio buttons seem to not work right in IE6 echo "<td><input type='radio' name='${"approve".$i}' value='yes' >Publish</input></td>"; echo "<td><input type='radio' name='${"approve".$i}' value='no' checked >Do Not Publish</input></td>"; echo "</tr>"; When I click on the default radio button whose value is 'no' all of the data gets posted normally and I can retrieve it with $_POST['var'] == "Some text" and $_POST['approve-1'] == no When I click on the other radio button whose value is 'yes' nothing gets posted except for the value of the radio button. Using the same $_POST['var'] == "" and $_POST['approve-1'] == yes. That's all that seems to get posted. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Or, is this a feature of IE6? :-)) | |||

Or, is this a feature of IE6? :-)) I'm not sure why it would work on NN. You have several errors in the code you posted 1) you seem to be trying to create 'approve1' but you are testing 'approve-1'. 2) unless you've defined yes and no as constants, they need to be in quotes. 3) I'm not a syntax expert, but I think name='approve$i' is what you want in your echos. -- Tom Thackrey www.creative-light.com

The variables are correct. Earlier in the program I set ${approve.$i} = "approve-".$row['news_pkey']; so it'll have the '-' in the name. I set it up this way so I could explode on the '-'. I'm still puzzled by the behavior in IE6. While working on this website I found myself developing many more workarounds for IE 'features' than for NN.
