| Hi all, I'm currently working on a resource directory for the homeless, needy and those dealing with mental illness. The site is located at: http://triangle-resources.no-ip.org Triangle Resources denotes that this is for the Triangle area of North Carolina (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill). Right now, I just list the information with html markup. I'm thinking there is a better way to present this and make it more useful, especially as the list of resources becomes larger and larger. I took on this part of the project as the most likely person to be able to do it. However, I don't have recent experience with database applications and programming for internet applications. I had done network programming and database access in C but that was years ago. Also for a web server I use KWFS web server that is free at www.webattack.com I'm thinking apache might be better and free as well but I'm not an apache user yet and don't want to having nothing running while I try to get it to work. The KWFS was easy to setup using the browser type interface to add web sties, and match each one to a different directory where the actual web site is located on the hard drive. So, how might it be handled better with a database for the various resources and using PHP or Perl to present the information and layout the web page the user sees? Suggestions? Where might I turn for help with this, as in volunteer help, guidance, suggestions, etc. Thanks in advance, Bruce -- ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Bruce M.
