setlocale not supported by server?

Hi all,
I'm trying to use the function "setlocale" but it seems that my server does
not support this.
what do i have to do inorder to get this working?
Is there any online documentation?
Server is running Linux and Apache. It is hosted at my provider, who's
willing to install this if i can get the correct documentation.

There is on-line documentation of this function at the PHP web site:

How exactly were you using the function? What were the error messages? I'm
afraid we need some more information to be of much help.
