| I am writing a website that requires a database to be searched via a web form. I have experemented with several SQL commands such as LIKE and MATCH (yes, I know this isn't a mysql group - bear with me!). These do not offer enough verstility for what I want and unfortunately my ISP doesn't have a version of mysql which supports boolean mode matches either. So... I have decided I pretty much have to write my own search script in PHP that will parse the user input and then search. I was just wondering if anyone has any tips on this or knows where I can download any similar scripts to look at. Thanks, Ric | |||

Read through each line (system/exec), use the split command, then perform your comparisons. Not as nice as say...mySQL but it'll be sufficient it you keep it small. | |||
