| Using cli version of php4x: I can't create any sockets... keep getting error 10060 - timed out... <?php echo "Opening socket...\n\r"; $fp = @fsockopen('xx.xx.xx.xx',55000,$errno,$errstr,60); if (!$fp) { die(sprintf('Error [%d]: %s',$errno,$errstr)); } echo "Socket: $fp open.\n\r"; socket_set_blocking($fp,false); fwrite($fp,"From parent\r\n"); while($line = fgets($fp,1024)) { echo "$line\n\r"; if ($line = "exit") { break; } } fclose($fp); ?> always fails -- unless I try to connect to my web server port... How do I create a socket for read/write access? | |||

| Error 10060 - timed out... I think I know the problem... You can't create a socket with the higher level functions (fsockopen, etc.) but need the lower level functions instead. I don't have the ability to recompile PHP --with-sockets. I'm downloading Mandrake Linux, will I be able to compile with that or do I need anything else?
