| Hi, I want to have all files of a directory listed in a certain order (best would be alphabetically). I get the files with: while ($file = readdir ($handle)) { ... } Now I don't see any order... The server is a Linux box. I know I can put the filenames into an array and sort it. But is there a way the readdir() command can sort for me? Tim | |||

The only method I have come up with for *nix boxes is an array method. NTFS apparently uses a B-Tree for directory entries, so they'll come out sorted. If you used it on a FAT32 partition, the ordering would (probably) be random á la Unix. -- Andy Hassall (andy@andyh.co.uk) icq(5747695) (http://www.andyh.co.uk) Space: disk usage analysis tool (http://www.andyhsoftware.co.uk/space) | |||
