multibyte problem

Dear all,

I wrote a simple web form to pass data from the web to the server for simple
processing. However, upon passing Chineses characters, the data are encoded
like the following:

寫下了

Is there any function to decode the characters to UTF8 format?

Please advice.

Kelvin,

Have you tried the multi-byte string section of the manual ?

ref.mbstring.html

This is a page reference if you have the manual available on a local machine
or you could just go to www.PHP.net and look for multibyte in the function
search.

There appear to be many settings required in config to get things set up and
this is language specific too from a quick glance.
