| Hi, I started writing a game site in php and mysql a couple of months ago. The game has now grown so much that my webserver (AMD Athlon XP 2000+) is coping with 2 milion !!!! hit per day!. I am sending 5 GB's of data over the net each day! This game is located at http://mobstar.rules.it if you just want to take a look inside use: TestUser 1111 as username and password. Now I am looking for info on how to reduce my cpu load. It is currenly at 60% all the time! First question: I jump in and out PHP a lot per page, sometimes 10 or more times. Does it matter if I do that ? Or can I better write the html in echo statements ? Second question: Are there products out there that can optimize my pages ? I am a fairly familiar with PHP (been coding in it for 4 years) and I know a lot about it but not about the tools that are avaiable oursite the free distribution. I also never had a site with such a high load and data throughput. Cheers, Bastiaan | |||
