Default PHP newbie - please help !!!

I would like to write a php code using Dreamweaver MX to do the following :-

upload a word document file to the server

download the word document file from the server

Please study the code below, it allows me to upload my word document to my
server

I do not want to use Blob as you said this is not the best way of doing
things.

I would like to ask how can I create a link on my php web page so that when
I click on the link, it will display the word document that I uploaded.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Andy

START OF PHP CODE-----------------------------------
<?php if($_POST['Upload'] == "Upload"){

$originalFileName = $_FILES['filename']['name'];
$tempFileName = $_FILES['filename']['tmp_name'];

$siteRoot = $_SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"];
$uploadDir = $siteRoot . "/data/";
$newPath = $uploadDir . "/" . $originalFileName;

umask(0);
move_uploaded_file($tempFileName, $newPath);
system("chmod 755 $newPath");
}
?>

<html>
<head>
<title>Untitled Document</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
</head>

<body>
<form action="<?php echo $_SERVER['SCRIPT_URI']; ?>" method="post"
enctype="multipart/form-data" name="uploadForm" id="uploadForm">
<input name="filename" type="file" id="filename">
<input name="MAX_FILE_SIZE" type="hidden" id="MAX_FILE_SIZE"
value="50000">
<input name="Upload" type="submit" id="Upload" value="Upload">
</form>
</body>
</html>

END OF PHP CODE ------------------------------------

Hi, Andy. I think that is good that you have discovered USENET. I think
it is bad the way you are using it. The answers wo the questions you have
posted so far are *all* available in the following ways:
* Google on problem. get answer
* buy a book on your topic (there are many decent PHP books)
* read the documentation supplied by the software providers. PHP.net and
MySQL.com come to mind. PHP.net Both have *very* good documentation.
* Other information resources.

I appreciate that you are having troubles. We all do. However it seems
like you are coming to USENET *first* for questions when the answers are
already out there, tucked away in documentation or interenet searches.

I am trying to help you in the long run, so that you (a) know how to do
this stuff for real and (b) don't get flamed with to many RTFM responses.

The newsgroups are not always helpful when it comes to questions that have
already been answered.

later...
