| I have created submission forms to handle visitor newsletter signups in ASP, but am not familiar yet enough with ASP to do this. Can anyone suggest a link or two (or three) explaining how to do this? I can actually post well enough to a form, as that part is simple. It's the part of adding a user to a mailing list. Would anyone recommend writing their data to a database (MySQL is my guess, as it's free on my server), and then just managing it via a custom interface, or does anyone have a better suggestion? I thought of adding it to a mailing list automatically, as I can create my own, although I'm not sure what kind of code to use to add the supplied information to the list manager. Thanks for the assist. | |||

If your ISP has MySQL it's pretty certain they'll offer php This is free and cross-platform. Your suggestion seems the way to go; after only three months of handling php/MySQL something like what you describe is less-than-an-hour stuff. Give it a go and if you get stuck post direct to me and I'll supply some code, liaise with you to make sure it's a go-er. Yooors, Iain. | |||

| Thanks a bunch. I'll start trying to create something and let you know how it goes. Any tips on how to approach the project? Should I first create a database, the screen fields, or other? Thanks again. <FatBlokeOnBikepins@pinsmother-truckers.co.uk> wrote in message news:rb9dgv8nqahidc80p7k1ncv1nfgknq1qu4@4ax.com... > >I have created submission forms to handle visitor newsletter signups in ASP, > >but am not familiar yet enough with ASP to do this.
