Default Valid HTML

Hey,
Just providing this incase anyone will be interested (assuming you don't already know).
If you go here you can check if your coding is valid, this includes putting a doctype declaration at the start of the document.

Link: The W3C Markup Validation Service

Personally I use XHTML 1.0 Strict (and CSS 2.1) I'd like to see more sites doing so too. Surprisingly Google.com is not valid (59 errors), whilst M$N.com is XHTML 1.0 Strict (I was surprised) Micro$oft.com has 176 errors - not surprised, and Yahoo.com has 34 errors. I think it's unfortunate that big sites aren't taking the time to keep their site up to standards.

Why use valid HTML?
You can tell the browser to display the page exactly how you want (note I said browsers, not "Internet Explorer" which is not a browser by HTTP standards)micro$oft have made up some of their own codes etc. for IE so you should be encouraged not to use this code because it doesn't work on other surfing software. You will become a better web developer for doing this and it will give you more chance of finding a job if you're looking for one in this field.
