i think the best way for your site to earn is by using google adsense. If your page is already that stable from the PR and the traffic, you could apply some other program for blogging.

I definately would suggest making a proper site and not use a nooblog. HTML coding is easy and it doesn't take too long to set up a new site, it takes me about a day (or up to 8 hours, this is while doing other stuff), I use some basic PhotoShop skills and code my sites into XHTML 1.0 Strict. If you want it to be successful you'll need to put the effort in, I don't bother reading people's blogs because they're blogs. I may just be "old school" however that's the way it is, it's too unprofessional. What annoys me so much more is people calling a myspace page etc. their "web site". In the design stage remember to leave space for adsense or similar, choose the ad size you would like/think would fit in best. Once you're finished you can add some more code within the actual pages (like, within your actual content not the design)

Try to write more quality articles first. Then increase PR and traffic. and then you can sell you blog post to other webmasters. Its contextual link building.
