Default BB code vs HTML

For all who are asking how to write a code in a forum post window: It is the same like HTML code only that you use [] brackets insted of <> brackets.
So for instance: [*b] insted of <*b>

Only basic tags in BB code are possible to write in forums, as I know. You can't determine a size of a picture or propertise of a table with it.

[*b] that one is correct of course without the *

So for an image it would be [*img]URL[*/img] Or a link would be [*url]link[*/url] Same for bold is B

HTML tags are what they are, it is an ended list of them.
But you can set some new BB tags for forum needs, am I thinking right?
How and where can new BB tags can be created?

Yes. But AFAIK you will always end up with pretty much static HTML fromed from the BBcode. So implementing new and cool BB tags is not going to do much for you that you couldn't do wit HTML, too.

Oh, and of course HTML keeps developing, too ...

That would depend on the application you are using. A forum will have a parser somewhere that translates the storec BBcode to HTML when a message is displayed.
