It's just character data. VARCHAR should do quite nicely.

"Clickable" is a GUI (graphical user interface) notion or feature, not a
database data type consideration.

Cheers!

Whether it is clickable or not has nothing to do with the database.
That is entirely up to whatever GUI is being used to display the data.

There is no "URL" datatype, if that is what you mean. You have to put it in
a character field. Of course you could write your own constraints to check
if the string is a valid URL (although that would be not that easy).

What I want is, when you type a valid url-adress in a certain field of a
databaserecord ( http://www.zot.be), and when I click (in my website )
on it that I go to that URL-adress.
Meanwhile I found it - in Firefox it is "clickable" - in IE, it is not
-there it is just "dead" text.
(I am not a professional - I just try things - sorry)

That is a function of the display of the data, not the storage. The
right way to do this is to create an anchor tag for the URL.

It has nothing at all to do with the database.

Oh, just store it as a valid HTML link tab. Such as:
<A HREF="http://www.lootersofloathing.com">Return To Main Menu</A>

If you display that on a web page, it would be a clickable link. In this
case the url is the http://www.lootersofloathing.com and the "Return To Main
Menu" is the text that shows up. You could just make the text the same as
the url.
