Default Getting started with MySQL

I've installed MySql 4.1 onto my Windows XP SP2 laptop...and I can't
connect to anything.

I've disabled the Windows firewall -- and just in case I placed an
exception entry for MySQL and port 3306.

Set up connection, try to log in through the SQL Administrator and
errors out. Pinging indicates "Could not resolve name TestHost".

What do I do?

Bill

Default Getting started with MySQL

This is something thast I had to do when I first got it installed...
make sure that it is running as service. I thought I had done this
originally during the installation, but I could find it no where.

Once I went into Programs > Accessories > Administrative Tools >
Services I got it started and was able to connect without problem.

Hope this helps ya.
