| I am new to mysql and so I also installed the mysql-administrator to help me. I login as root and it tells me that the server is running and I am using MySQL 4.0.20 on localhost and IP 127.0.0.1. When I goto User administration to add a new user it states that cound not retrieve user privilege information. I then accept that and try to add a new user and the administrator crashes out with the "./mysql-administrator: line 9: 24417 Segmentation fault $MYPATH/mysql-administrator" being the last line in the terminal window. Anyone out there can help me with any ideas? regards ahinst | |||

| I have a not disimilar problem I can retrieve the user privilage information but can't apply the changes --- "Error applying user changes. MySQL Error Nr. 0" on returning to the privilage window all the options are grey out. MYSQL user adimistration through the Webmin Mysql module works but is a bit obscure and not user friendly. | Well I finaly found a solution. I manualy with command line options made a root user with no password. Then I can use the msql-administrator with no panels greyed out. It would seem that mysql-administrator used client 4.0.23 (as seen on the server information page) and I have 4.1.11 server installed! I also have client 4.1.11 installed on my box. There is no 4.0.23 client on my box Does anyone know how to upgrade the mysql-administrator to the 4.1.11 client? andrew wrote: > I have a not disimilar problem I can retrieve the user privilage > information but can't apply the changes --- "Error applying user changes. > MySQL Error Nr. 0" on returning to the privilage window all the options > are grey out. > MYSQL user adimistration through the Webmin Mysql module works but is a > bit obscure and not user friendly. > > > On Tue, 19 Apr 2005 08:20:19 +0200, ahinst wrote: > >> I am new to mysql and so I also installed the mysql-administrator to >> help me. >> >> I login as root and it tells me that the server is running and I am >> using MySQL 4.0.20 on localhost and IP 127.0.0.1. >> >> When I goto User administration to add a new user it states that cound >> not retrieve user privilege information.
