Big text from shelloutput into table?

Hi all

I have output from a shellscript, that contains ordinary humanreadable
text with all the usual controlcaracters like linebreaks, slashes ect,
and bear resemblance to a normal man-page in content and structure. The
text is typically 1-3 screens full.

I am trying to figure out how to insert these outputs into a simple
table with 2 fields. An int-index and a text-field.

I need help to figure out what kind of field to save the content in
(standard text-field?).
And to design a command that can do it. Perhaps something like
preceeding it with 'INSERT INTO....' and then some translation and piping.

I think it should be simple, but i just can't hack it...

Help is very appreciated...
