| Member Level 2 | Hi. Can anyone clear-up what is possibly a very simple issue. Can you explain why CSS properties written by some designers are prefixed with a # symbol, whilst in other designers prefix theirs with a * symbol. Can I use any symbol I like to prefix a property, or will only certain ones work? | ||

| MK PitStop Member | #x will apply to an element that has an id of x id="x" .x will apply to an element that has a class of x class="x" * applies to all dom elements.
