How do you advertise? PPC? CPC? affiliate?

People who own an ecommerce website, or are selling services or products over the internet. How are you advertising this business?

I'm looking into the affiliate business, but I've heard alot of bad stories about it. Any expert out there?

The affiliate business is very good if you are using a legit company like Commosion Junction. If major companies use affiliate programs why not you? If you want to advertise someone else's products then it’s a good way to earn an extra income.

If you have your own products and you’re looking to sell then PPC maybe the way to go. As you probably know there are many services out there and selecting one may prove difficult. I would personally select Google because they are very intelligent with their technology and provided service.

I dont advertise my sites in any advertising program or with any banners on other websites, I just place links other peoples directory and get by sites to rank as best I can

I've found Google Adwords good, as long as you monitor it enough.

Google Adwords is Good but costly! And you need PPC Professional for run PPC Compaing it otherwise you lost more than you get.

Google AdWords is great but you must check you stats carefully and write ads for conversion .

1. Select your keywords .
2. Go to inventory.overture.com and using this tool create a big list of keywords to bid on .
3. Learn how to use Google Analytics to track which keywords convert which not .
4. Create mispellings of your keywords .
5. Patience and lots of tests with ads , keywords , bids .

Use a CPC like Google Adwords.

It allows you to control your ads, how much you are willing to spend each month, and on each click. CPC guarentees you traffic, while CPM only guarentees you views.

If you deal directly with a website rather than through an affiliate program like Google, make sure your banners are displayed in places they will be noticed, like at the top of the page, rather than the bottom of a long page.

You can go and search in www.heliumknowledge.com or google. If you search for affiliate, there will be many sites that provide the programs for you. However, some good programs will have to check your web's traffic before letting you joining them.
