Default Broadband behaviour

Hi all,
There are several quotes I have read in recent months saying that
online shopping increases with broadband take up, but the sources are
never quoted. This is of course a reasonable assumption to make, but
are there any studies/research that have actually proved this?

Thanks,
Ben Cotter

Ben,

There are just too many variables for this to be true as a blanket
statement of "the reason".

That being said, there are some fairly well documented assumptions that
would point to this being true.

1. People are shopping online more
2. More people are getting broadband
3. #1 reason for NOT buying.. lousy experience with the process

The smart money has to be on MORE online shopping in the future.

As far as broadband penetration.. I like the "tipping point"
explanation. In the growth of any new idea, especially a new
technology, there is a ramp up period, follow but a short lull, and
then all of a sudden EVERYONE HAS ONE. Broadband is nearing the kind of
penetration percentages that are pretty close. The growth thus far is
great.. but watch out for an explosion in the next couple of years.

More people online with better connections... do you really need a
study?
