Default Seek website marketing, promotion that meets these guidelines

I'm seeking to purchase or acquire two types of website marketing and
promotion.

First, I'd like to find a service that targets all the legitimate
search engines in the world in a way acceptable to those engines
without submitting to any Free For All links or other such things.

Second, I want to get targeted ad placement on websites and in e-mail
newsletters that are legitimate and above board and which are not a
nuissance to anyone.

My site markets my services as a freelance writer for magazines and
corporations. My target audience is magazine editors and publishers,
and corporate entities that purchase corporate writing, ghost writing,
things like that.

Any ideas?

Thx,

D

I believe http://www.clickz.com/ has a good reputation for a marketing
newsletter. (And decent SE postion when you search Google for "marketing
newsletter")

When it comes to search submissions, you need not use any of those
services that submit your site to thousands of backwater sites. the
first thing you should do is find as many relevant business directories
as possible to submit a listing. Once done, then you can submit to the
major engines. The Inktomi engines (Lycos et al) charge a small fee
these days. Another thing yo might want to check out is Respond.com.
you can post your services and get notified via email when people are
seeking your services. Good luck!

The search engine optomization services out there are software have limited
success and the way they work is always changing. There was a site that I
used awhile ago and it worked ok.. I was nowhere on the engines at all, the
service was free and might still be and it actually got me listed somewhere
around page 18. The service is called wen ceo. I just looked it up and
this is the URL to start at http://www.webceo.com/promotion/submission.htm.
There is another place that I was referred to that I did not use, Microsoft
bCentral at www.submitit.com. And last of all, there are many web marketing
companies out there that do what you seek. One I will recommend out of
Calgary is called mibusiness.net at www.mibusiness.net. But tey have this
thing called Viral Communique. The website for that is
www.viralcommunique.com. What is cool about those folks is if you dont want
to spend money, and you want to do it yourself, they are pretty good about
giving all kinds of advice.

If you have time, I would first call the viral folks, and do it yourself and
save your money. lol

That is my advice. Good luck..

Default Seek website marketing, free marketing tips website

Hello,

I did something similar a while ago, I freelanced as a graphic
artist/web designer. I had success attacking it as if I were applying
for a job. I looked up job listings for what I wanted to do, and then
sent a letter/resume for my services. Todays job market may make that
a little more difficult, but It worked for me.

I also signed up with freelance companies such as www.guru.com and
www.elance.com. Got quite a few jobs this way.

One other thing I did was to download a list of all the advertising
agencies in my area, and cold call (yuk, and not totally effective)
but also, I worked up a snail mail campaign that seemed to work well.
I created a package that sold my services, outlined my skills, and
showcased my talent. Small but Full package with samples. I started
off with a postcard to get my name out - something useful to the
company. I called and told the secretary to leave my name and the
message that I would be sending a package, and then mailed to package
to the head guy in charge. Then I followed up with a phone call to see
if they were interested. If they were not interested at the moment, I
would follow up each month with another useful postcard, to keep my
name in front of them. You may do the same with your target market....
I would concentrate on US mail for your target market, emails may be
regarded as spam, or just may not get read. But, since youre a writer,
you know that you need to catch their interest with one line - the
subject line in an email...

You have another useful tool working for you. Your website. The best
paid advertising programs I've seen are googles adwords, and overture.
But you may not want to risk that kind of money upfront. It's
difficult to market business to business on the internet, because of
the nature of the internet being for the everyday person, so you need
a game plan... Plain fact A website only works for you if people see
it, and if it effectively catches a prospects interest - as far as
what they need... A website really works for you if you can get ranked
in the top ten of search engine.

I have put together a content only website that informs people how to
effectively put together a website geared toward search engine
optimization, to get higher search rankings. I have included free
internet marketing ebooks, and free artwork/templates. With links to
effective tools.

http://www.rocket-net.com

Best of Luck to you.
Check out the website, and respond if you have any questions.
Trisha

Try http://www.worldsubmitter.com. You can submit to search engines (100's)
classified sites, ffa's as well.

You can set up a free or paid account and choose which group(s) you want
to submit to.

Those are great if your goal is to get lots of junk email.

There are very few real search engines worth submitting to. FFA sites are
useless as are most classified sites, unless they rank high in Google or
Yahoo for your search terms. Just searching for "classified ad posting" is
probably useless.

Additionally, I would add that I've never worked on a site that got more
than 20% of its visitors from search engines. Those come almost
entirely from Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Also, the search traffic tends to
have the lowest conversion rates. So, I try to remind people that
organic free search is just a small piece of the puzzle.
