Holy webbies!

Is anyone here involved in, or have any interest in marketing or
marketing topics that are not entirely web-centered? There a whole
world, a lot bigger one at that, that doesn't depend entirely on web
marketing strategies. I've only been here a couplke weeks so perhaps
I'm getting only a small flavor of this group.

Go to Google and do a newsgroup search for topics in this forum and you will
se about 80% of the topics are other than Internet related, although the
Internet may be mentioned as an option for certain activities. For example
one of the greatest new tools in marketing can be found at eBay. The key
question every new business or product must answer is "How much are
customers willing to pay?" And serious money has 'traditionally' gone into
answering this question. But today you can find out in minutes if your
product idea will sell and how much people will pay. Go to eBay advanced
search features and click on the button to locate only items sold. You will
see two weeks of results along with descriptions, freight, etc. You may have
to research your idea over a period of time, but nothing like this has ever
been available except through really expensive venues.

You will find out a lot about home based businesses, consulting, Internet
marketing, brick and mortar know-how, trends, etc if you mine this, and
