| Hello All, I am a recent college graduate who is searching for an entry-level marketing job--perferabbly with a consumer products company. Here's what I have to offer: * Japanese Language Proficiency * Proficiency with MS Excel and sales tracking techniques. * Knowledge of corporate marketing strategies. The majority of entry-level jobs I've found so far require at least 2 years of marketing experience. And frankly that's not too realistic for a new college grad. Does anyone have any tips on finding a marketing job with a consumer products firm? Thanks! -Dan B. | |||

You can move into marketing later but first you should get some field experience. I'd suggest a company in the financial services sector as many will have good training programs and the knowledge gained can be used in many different fields. Al Canton, President Adams-Blake Company, Inc *** JAYA123 - the new web-based total-office system for the small biz. Order entry, billing, bookkeeping, etc. for $14.95 a month. Everyone says "It's cool as a moose!!" See why at:http://www.jaya123.com *** | |||

| Don't overlook part time work with Non-Profits working with Japanese immigrants or agencys to gain experience. Many of them need lots of help and you can then move along demonstrating a history of implementation and gaining a catchy title for the resume. It is also true that sales is a good grooming ground. You know what your resources really are up front which is good. And when you get into the biz through sales you get to see front line action... where the rubber meets the road... where all those strategies have to perform or be scrapped...normally along with a Marketing V.P. if the projections and real numbers don't jive after a year. I'm exaggerating. (But only a wee bit). AS far as specific oppy's, I sent out a silver bullet for you. Here's what came back: http://www.google.com/search?num=50&...g+opportunity+ All the best... ~zion~ | |||
