Default RE: Why aren't they selling?

Greetings Articus, mr goat, Sam Hopkins, Dr. Kilstein and all other
interested souls,

Through your good advice, we have completely overhauled our website. Our
sales haven't improved yet so I'm pretty sure we got some refining to do.

I would very much appreciate any advice any of you marketing experts may
have.

Please check out our site and let me know what you think.
www.jagrc.com

A thousand thanks.
Glen Ray

It's better but...

You really need to read Jakob Neilson if you are going to refuse to
give the work to a professional to do. There is alot still wrong.

Navigation - you DO NOT have any. Oh wait, what's this list of words
at the bottom? Oh *that's* your navigigation? Wow. Have a look at
www.apple.com
See how easy and obvious the mavigation is? The buttons all have clear
'rollovers' and you know when you have clicked somewhere. It's also
easy to get back to the home page.

You shouldn't really have the text go over one page if you can help
it. Scrolling is bad. Cramming everything on one main 'home page' is
really flawed.

Have the testimonials on a 'testimonial page'. Have the picture of the
kit on a 'gallery' page. etc.

Home Page - really wrong. Too many words, wrong order. The home page
should be welcoming and it should be clear what you expect me to do
next. Look at apple's home page. Isn't it inviting?

Imagine your customer is a monkey in a red fez, looking for a banana.
(this is from Seth Godin). The monkey is looking for your banana. On
each page. You have 3 seconds to show him the banana. Where is the
banana on your home page? I don't have a clue. Do you?

The order of sales process.
This is proven (many times over) and unchangeable.

A - attention
I - interest
D - desire
A - action

example:

Do you want to get 50% more power out of your radio controlled car?
Do you want to supercharge your car, but are scared of permanant
damage to your block?

Would you love NO2 but wouldn't do it unless there was some sort of
guarantee?

Well this site might just be what you are looking for...

Have a look at the pictures, read the letters of testimonal, download
the video.

Then buy one.

Click here to order your kit or call TOLL FREE NUMBER to ask any
questions you mihgt have.

--

I just wrote that in 2 mins as an example. It's the structure that
works. AIDA. Use it.

--

Logo - its a little bit better, but it still looks like an amateur did
it. You need a logo and a logotype. Again, let's use apple as an
example. The bitten out appl eis there logo, the word apple in that
serif font is their logotype.

I suggest you get this done by a professional.

I suggest you get teh site redone by a professional.

But it is alot better.

You say you haven't noticed and increas in saels. I am not surprised.
YOu just tidied the site as opposed to making it any easier to buy.
Imagine you are that monkey.

Also, you now need to start to measure. How long to ppl spend on your
site, on each page? where do they come from? what do they do, where do
they click.

You can get all this information. So you change the site, chaneg the
copy and then look again, what has changed? Why? Test again. Chaneg
things again. Repeat. This should be a constant process.

Good luck!

glen, design of website and getting people to buy is a completely
different subject.

reaching your target market, and having a site that pleases
NON_BUYERS is really a waste of resources.

try asking your BUYERS what they think !

i advised web design/developing co's. and the only sites that
made a hit with clients were those that spent ALOT of time to hone in
on their clients. in terms of costs a real estate co. spent over
$30k at $185/hr web dev/programmer's time. they are not done yet after
months of effort.
marketing is a tough field as is programming and other fields.
