| Hi all, My wife and I have an Internet site where we are selling one of a kind sculptures which she inherited. This summer we sold 4 of the pieces which ranged in price from $3000 to over $9500. I have put SOLD after the 4 items, to give the viewer a track record or context. There are some 25 others not sold, many of them IMO very salable. Is it possible that the SOLD items could in some sense be subversive of selling the others? Is keeping the picture of the sold no longer available items among the other pictures of still available items good marketing or bad? I would very much welcome your comments. | Displaying the sold items is an indirect testimonial. People like your sculptures, perceive the price as fair, and are satisfied with the purchase. That's a good thing | |||

| Dear Michael I think it is a good way for marketing. If the sculptures are unique, sold items could generate demand for copies. In my college time a had a major course in Arts. The best arrangement for the visual focus was called the golden section. 1/3 to 2/3. I could imagine, that up to 1/3 of all sculptures could be titled "Sold" or "Please ask for a copy". | I would say it is good - adds credibility - could you get the purchasers to give you feedback that you could include under the sold items? Jimbo www.masterytv.biz/jess | |||
