| Hi, my name is Mehdi and I just graduated from a community college with a two year degree in business administration. I would like to get into the field of marketing, and I need some help on how to go about this. I would appreciate any tips or suggestions from anyone. Thanks | |||

| Mehdi, Typically a 2-year degree isn't going to go far in marketing. A four-year degree seems to be a minimum. You might try the web site of the American Marketing Association (www.marketingpower.com) for their career guidance and information. Best of luck! It covers advertising, public relations, sales presentations, total image management, and so forth. Tell us what in marketing interests you and perhaps we can be of more help. And because marketing is almost always a creative job, it is best that you're interested in doing the job to get the best results. Or you could take the road less travelled, get an English degree and fall ass over tea kettle into the industry like I did. Complete and total accident. -- -- Tyler C. Hellard | |||

| Did you want to work with a corporate company or alone? Marketers come from diverse backgrounds. Consider taking an aministrative gig with an event promotions company, or working for a CMP (certified meeting planner). See if you can negotiate for additional schooling tuition reimbursement or go through a meeting/ event planners course. This will all give you more opportunities to expand into the promotional aspect of marketing. How Badly Do you want it? | |||
