Duilio, I think the guerilla marketing books are pretty good, as well as some of the books written by Paul and Sara Edwards (Getting Business to come to You is one of their better books). > > My field is software. What are you trying to do? Do you want to sell a program that you wrote? Do you want to sell your programming services? Are you trying to start, or are you currently running, a business? Conrad and Levinson are co-authors, so don't buy duplicate titles. > Somebody said: "if you don't segment, you don't think" Be careful about listening to what other people say unless they have made it to where you want to go. > >Are you trying to start, or are you currently running, a business? > > currently running How many programs have you sold to hospitals, and how many hospitals are using one or more of your programs? | >Check out gmarketing.com there are quite a few titles >just visit a bookstore, and pick a book that looks good to you. I live in a small town with er ... small bookstores. Tomorrow I'll see what I can find. You seem to think that any book re marketing will help... >Be careful about listening to what other people say unless they have made it >to where you want to go. this is a big constraint, instead. AFAIK Bill Gates didn't write any book on marketing >How many programs have you sold to hospitals, and how many hospitals are >using one or more of your programs? (From your existing business, not from >past employment.) the programs are quite new. We have sold 2 licences and almost-sold 3 more in the last month. >What are your goals for your business? one program has big potential and no competition Theoretically every single hospital would be happy to buy it. However...it is still in beta. Given our limited resources (we are busy with old customers and other products) I'd be happy to sell 40 licences in the next 12 months. Damn! You made me _think_ ! This is something I seldom do... Best regards Duilio Foschi | |||

| Personnally, I would suggest that you buy "Marketing Management" by Philip Kotler. Any general queries about marketing and planning as a managerial concept or as a corporate process is included in this book. It is the Definite marketing bible and a must read for any "would-be" marketer. Fabrice Pombet Doctoral Researcher Imperial College London | |||
