| Hi, I think of the idea of having vegetables and fruits truck circulating the neighborhood. Households can now purchase fresh supply daily directly from the truck which passes by their neighborhood on a daily basis. Obviously our source of supply will definitely be the local farmers. Instead of buying in bulk quantities from them, we opt for a joint partnership with them. The farmer will share both the earnings and the losses from the selling. We must be competitive in terms of pricing so that consumer can enjoy fresh supply of food at their convenience and at a reasonable price. We also need to have a good distribution line, and storage system, to maintain the good condition of our perishable goods. One possible solution would be enlarge our area of service, and having the local community inform about our service. In addition, a general schedule of our service should be provided for their reference. Possible threat : Local supermarket : Eating out lifestyle May I know if this is a viable new idea? Sincerely, Diong | |||

| Diong - before you get started with the business plan - take a good look at doing some demographic mapping on communities that allow or do not allow direct door-to-door soliciting. Once you have your numbers on that, aim for about a 10% market penetration over a 12 month period. Now - what do THOSE numbers look like?? Compare those numbers with farmer market areas (such as the one in DownTown Dallas) and let me know your thoughts . hth - xie xie [Bill] -- William Sanders / Electronic Filing Group Remove the DOT BOB to reply via email. | In regards to the competitiveness of your products........ Would it be an idea to promote a "healthier" service by using non GM crops (if you have a suitable source)? If so then you may well be able to get away with a slightly higher pricing structure.
