| Need help with email address management software I am looking for an email address management software package that can do the following: 1. Mail Merging / Demerging capabilities... a). I will be adding to my list of email addressses from time to time. I need to make sure that I do not send an email to a person/company that I just sent an email to earlier. b). So The software should be capable of merging new lists with the old lists and highlighting the duplicates in the NEW list so I do not send these folks/companies emails again. c). After this, the software should be capable of DEMERGING so I can send emails only to the folks/companies in the new list that have not been contacted earlier in my earlier lists. d) After the lists are merged, the software should be able in some column to show on the face of the document where this email is from ie list 1 or list 2 or list 3. 2. Have a quick way of labelling groups of email addresses as " Sent" with the stroke of a key or all being color coded, etc. and having some email addresses labeled as "to be sent" etc. 3. Have the capability of highlighting and removing duplicates by name or by company or email address. 4 . Having columns whose headers can be changed. 5 . Be able to import files......preferably Excel files, if possible, so I do not have to reformat the files for the importation of data. 6. Columns / Content should be moveable like an Excel File. 7. Should have complete search capability..search by name or company or email address. 8. Should be able to re-arrange the lists by name, email address or company. 9. Hopefully should be economical in cost. 10. Be able to import wrong email addresses list and delete them from the list. I know that some of these are STANDARD features in most software packages. If anyone has any suggestions, Please let me know. Thankyou. Valerie | |||

| Hi Valerie (et. al.), I'm new to this group, so I'm posting this link at the risk of being considered a spammer. I don't mind taking that risk, this looks like a nicely moderated group as compared to some of the other "business" newsgroups. We've been using this software for a couple years now for our e-newsletters and notices. Some of our notices only go to local folks or to people that request updates on certain products. We keep everyone separated by creating different groups. I've not noticed a "flagging" system as you describe, but it does create a running log of all messages sent and which groups they are sent too. This may or may not be discerning enough for your purposes. One of the features that attracted me to the software was it's ability to import data from a variety of different formats, including the windows clipboard. The trial version allows you to do quite a bit without purchase: http://www.infacta.com I'd be interested to know if this works out for you, or which software you end up using.
