Default Marketing Strategy for software products

Hello,

I am developing several software products.
For those of you who know the topic, they're Webservices.
A webservice, in short, is a particular software server-based which
allows a client application to do remote operations and get the results on
the
local computer. There exist services for translating texts, getting stock
quotes, converting currencies, etc.

My strategy would be like this:

1) Putting the servers online, creating a small client application each, to
allow people to test it and use it.
2) When the service is stable and there's "market", I commercialize it.
3) I keep the "original" service free of charge, it will serve as "trial"
version.
4) When testing new versions, I will allow my actual customers to test
them and get the newer versions at half price or even free.
New customers will be able to rely on "consolidated" versions( my
customer will probably report all the bugs and software defects they
find) and old customer will limit TCO.

Comments?

TIA

Andrew
