I am amazed http://ipower.com/ are selling .com domain names for just $2.95 yes thats right $2.95, and you can just buy the domain names

Theres got to be some kind of catch. By looking at the reviews the catch in this case may be the poor poor service offered by IPower.com, sure it may be cheap but I would rather get my domain without fuss sooner rather than later.

I dont know $2.95 you cant really go to wrong it would be worth a test or even to by domains that would sell for a little more

just felt the need to comment on this thread! I have an affiliate account with ipower. I have sold a domain to myself and they sent me a check for $10 commission! LOL I cant say for sure how long they can keep this up, but I would suggest anyone in need of domain names, get one from a friend thru ipower, than get yourself an affiliate an account. (when I joined you had to be a customer before being allowed as affiliate, this might have changed)? but getting my first domain name was a breaze! no problems at all. I have that domain parked: www.mybizrox.com
I had this brilliant ider for a pixel site and figured wth lets see if I really am able to grab domain names from my own affiliate link. So I got

I picked my domain name just like you would any place else! and didnt have any issue's with either one of them! the catch that I see is the price after your first year of ownership! but if your creative and can get some awesome domains for resell~ this is ideal for you~ they pay and you dont need to request. I was just sent a check by mail!
of course always read the sites terms, but for my 2cents worth, ipower has rocked and lets hope it can continue

Ipower -- A caution note.

Ipower does offer $2.95 domain for just a one year period. The catch here is.. in future your renewals would cost you over $8.5 p.a.

Ipower is selling domains way below cost. The minimum cost of a domain is $6.5. That includes the fees paid to icann and verisign. The sellers or registrars make profit by selling above this cost point.

Do not go in for it, if you plan on getting a long term domain.

But if you plan to sell off your domains within a year. Its still a very bad option. ***Important*** If you ever want to transfer the names elsewhere, it will cost you $1 per month for 12 months.**** its mentioned in their TOS

I told ya there was some kind of catch to this. Suck you in with cheap prices and then when you want to use the domain on another host they fight back and take your money for moving away.
