No on Tripod/Lycos

Be careful on going with Tripod/Lycos hosting. I've recently acquired a new client who was hosting with tripod. Mysteriously, the DNS would change for my client's domain and they would be down... no site, no email. Unable to change DNS back. Tripod has NO phone number to call and they respond very little to your trouble ticket requests. Our solution was to change the domain name because we would still be fighting the battle today if we continued with the original.

Not trying to bash Tripod/Lycos/Angelfire, but I know there are alot of sites that have been hosted with them and I want to warn anyone looking for cheap hosting services, my opinion is, you're better off looking elsewhere.

I haven't read all the posts yet, but I'm sure people have already stated some good hosting companies in this forum to look to.

I havent liked the look of them from when I tried there free host once, I havent had any dealings with them since but the free site put me well off the way they work.

They closed my hosting account without notice once and I was not very happy, after I sorted the problem out I moved hosts.
