Host gator is a well known company, they are almost praised for their uptime, but they are kind of on the expensive side.

i think hostgator is the best site for web hosting especially when you want to buy the shared hosting site. they give the best deal. It doesn't count whether we are a webmaster or reseller. They give us a good package that for sure we could earn some more money!

I am never buying shared hosting again. From now on I will only use VPS and VDS. It may be more expensive but that is for many good reasons.

Hostgator can also earn you alot of money, like payback for what you paid them. To do this simply buy a reseller ( VERY EXPENSIVE ) and then start selling hosting, you could earn money if you know the way of the webmaster, otherwise it could be pretty hard lol. But i would say that hostgator has outrageous prices, but they have coupon codes, but then, those are valid for 1 month only, which is totally unfair. But you can find good hosts that have cheaper prices up there, but i dont think it will be as fast, or the support wont be as good as the one in HostGator currently. But i think hostgator charges too much to offer so little
But anyone, if your looking for a "SAFE" choice in webhost for beginning such a great expedition. I suggest going with the really epensive host gator, or find a cheaper or free one

Assuming this topic is on HostGator and not someone called "Hosgator"...
My mates rent a dedi from them, they gave the wrong hardware so now they have double the specs for the same price lol they get I think 15 free domain registrations with it after that it costs them £3 per domain (I can beat that, I resell them using myorderbox at £2.50, I may sell at £3 though in order to make a bit of money from it as I buy for £2.06 so most of the profit anyway goes to PayPal lol) they've not had any problems with it. They seem expensive though.
