Got my hosting package wat now??

Im totally new to this does anyone use LayerShift. ive got it now But wanna do some sites now got the domains but im confused of what to do next etc please help im so new at this

Also I use Filezila how to I start a site

You need to start by gatting you FTP infomation ready for your Filezila software, do you have this infomation?

I think LayerShift send this infomation in an email after you buy an acount with them.

Thanks im still stuck it wont work can you tell me exactly what to do i put the ftp.mydoain.co.uk in filezilla and the pasword etc i thought was right but it wont log in

you should click

File > Site Manager

then a window will open, at the bottom left click the New Site button

then add to

Host: ftp.domain.co.uk
port: 21
logontype: Normal
user: username
password: password

all other sections should be left blank and then click Save and Exit button then go back and select your site again and click connect.

if it doesnt connect you could pm me the info and i can try if you want, but note only if you know how to change the infomation after as you should nenver trust any one

Sorted!! not going to tell you wat i did wrong as its embarrasing lol.

was wondering tho is there any code i can put in so people cant steal pics off my site thanks again MadKad

Bash, sorry mate but there isnt any code in any way to stop people steeling pics, here are some little tips though

add your web address on them

cover the images with a blank image so when they right click and save it saves a blank one

thats all you can do, the other is disable right click but you can just view the source so it doesnt work

havin trouble putting a background on my new site and was wondering if anyone can help.

i am using this code.

and

{background-image:
url('http://www.sulinriverflow.co.uk/httpdocs/Images/rivbon.png')

if i use my other sites ftp it works but i dont want to put loads of pics in the other one because its not my GB im using up just stressing lol

Are you using a external CSS file?

another dont use the ftp. address

one more you httpdocs is the direct root to your domain name so

wrong:
http://www.sulinriverflow.co.uk/httpdocs/Images/rivbon.png

correct:
http://www.sulinriverflow.co.uk/Images/rivbon.png

Another thing, bandwith a month can be lowerd by using an external CSS file and images if you make them to the size you want in .jpg format this helps aswell.
