What do you people think, does distance from my computer to hosting server affect the speed my site will be opened with? I'm from Europe was intending to take one Canadian hosting but was disadvised from them (!) - saying it's good for me to find a hosting in Europe. Has anyone any experience with ping checking? Do you use DOS ping command? What results are you considering as good? | ||

I dont really notice any speed difference. Im in Australia and the hosting server is somewhere in America/Canada, the only time I notice slow downs is when something has happened to the Southern Cross Cable. There might just be a couple of k/bps difference but its not noticable. | ||

Which tool should I use to check how fast a hosting server is? There are many PING/Traceroute online tools, just don't know what is reliable, informative enough... | ||
