| Member Level 3 | ![]() I don't currently use them, but I have had their hosting in the past. The uptime was great in the 6 months that I used them; I don't think the site ever went down once. You didn't get unlimited e-mail accounts, which I didn't like. But 1000+ was fine for the thing I was doing with the hosting. MYSQL Databases are limited, which if you don't need that many is fine. But if you need more then 25 MYSQL DBs then I wouldn't choose them. I already kind of new that their support wouldn't be the fastest and most friendly since they are a big company and they really don't have time to get on MSN Messenger with you and talk to you and help you through stuff. Don't get me wrong, their support was quick and on time; but they were blatant answers and I thought they could of at least did it on a little more personal touch like small web hosts do. There are TONS of other small web hosts out there that will offer you better support and more features then this Giant called GoDaddy. But then again, these smaller web hosts could rip you off or just shutdown and you be left in the dark and out of money. When looking for a smaller web host I suggest you contact them and ask for contact information of current customers so that you can see how they like it. Also see how long they have been up and if anything bad, besides outraged customers that did something illegal, is/was put against them that. | ||

| Member Level 3 | Thanks. Thats a good idea on contacting some smaller companys. As my business grows I can't afford down time with some clinets. So that was one thing I was liking about Godaddy. But at the same time when you need good support you need it ASAP. | ||

| MK PitStop Member | I've been instructed from one Web Hosting not to signup with them because their servers are located in Canada and I'm in Europe. They say it is good if the server is close to place where majority of your visitors will come from. The site opening time can vary up tu several seconds... To check the server responsivness time, type in in DOS command ping server adress. So, to check google server you type in: ping www.google.com or ping 64.233.183.103 you get the result in seconds. Can someone tell what are acceptable ping times to choose a webhosting? Last edited by modric : 09-05-2006 at 2:07 PM. | ||
