Default Anyone uses FANTASTICO?

FANTASTICO is an automatic script installer. Many hosting providers have it as a part of their packages. There are about 50 scripts available (blogs, forums, WordPress...) and you can install them with few clicks only. I installed b2evolution blog and all went smooth. But I've heard that can be many problems with installing SMF script..so one can still prefer manual installing.
Your opinions?

I have used Fantasico for a few scripts, they have all installed with ease and installed properly even to subdomains on your hosting. Shame IPB isnt on their install list anymore, wouldnt mind using it instead of phpbb.

Hey, what's so good in IPB that you want to have it? Any special feature there? I personaly use SMF - currently I have installed it on a smfforfree site: free forum + free hosting.
So IPB benefits in short?

I have nothing against Fantastico. Everytime I've used it, it's been no flaws. Saves time on install over manual. I guess only thing I've noticed in Fantastico is the version is usually one step behind. Not a bad thing, in fact cood be good, but I like to install the latest versions.

Yeah same here. Love fantastico, I am even offering it to my hosting clients. But sometimes the versions of the software can be a step behind. But hey it's easier to update a piece of software then to install it all by hand!

Are usually any problems with installing SMF script with fantastico?
And: If I have a SMF forum with few threads and posts (Let's say 50 posts all), what is the easy way to move all: script and database on another hosting. I probably can't move the database myself - or can I? (I mean I probably don't have access to do this).

Sure, you can move the whole thing. If you have access to your Control Panel, which I'm assuming you do, you should have access to your database and the directory your forum is in. You can export the db and copy the forum onto your new server, then import the db. Or, you can use the "Backup" option that should be available within your control panel. If not, ask your hosting administrators for a backup of your site. You don't have to tell them you're moving if that is a concern. Just let them know you'd feel more comfortable in backing up your data.
Point is, it can be done. You may have to change a few variables like the path to your forum in your configs somewhere, but the changing should be very minimal.
