| MK PitStop Member | I wouldn't pay for it. I can get you 150 directory submissions for a fraction of what it would cost to get a paid listing. Granted each directory's link is not worth the value of the link Yahoo gives but then after all the sub directories in Yahoo the value of your link is seriously devalued. DMOZ is the daddy of all directories to get listed in because when you get listed in there you get listed in about 100-200 other high profile directories as well. It may be slow and volunteer driven and corupt but it gives your site one huge kick in the right direction if you get listed. I reckon only 2 of my clients ever got listed in there lol. I personally would be more inclined to get sponsored links, ppc advertising, featured listings, press releases etc

| Member Level 2 | Doesn't it still cost $299 to have your site listed in the yahoo directory? But I also heard that you can have it listed for free if your website is of a personal nature. It might take a few weeks to get picked up but as stated in another post, if you have a lot of links to your site from other sites, then the probablity goes up. just make sure the content is ORIGINAL and not a spammers paradise, good content and appearance. | ||

| Member Level 3 | It depends if I would pay or not. If I really wanted my website to have a lot of publicity then I would but if I didn't mind then I obviously wouldn't waste the money. | ||
