Missing folders in Desktop Search

I can offer you a useful link which illustrates the problem I am facing.
http://snipurl.com/195vg I sense you do not seem to be aware of this
and are perhaps assuming we are all ok with this.

I guess it may be best for you not to dwell on my question if the answer

I'm not sure what problem you're referring to with that link. It's the sign
on page, you enter your Windows Live or MS Passport and password, then it
takes you to the WDS Help forum.

Asking your question here will probably not get any results. This newsgroup
handles questions about the XP OS, not necessarily about programs that run
on it. WDS is not part of the XP OS. Good luck.

Thanks for the info Rock.

AIUI other software such as WMP are not part of the XP OS but an
accessory. This applies to several other utility applications.

AFAICT they are all discussed here and are not exclusively discussed
in forums which one has to join Microsoft passport in order to use.

This has been a useful exchange in helping me recall that Netcops are
not restricted to an existence only in the early days of the Usenet.

Andy, if you don't want to go to that forum then don't. My pointing you
there is because that is where the experts in WDS are. They don't hang out
in this group, we rarely get any posts about it here (nor should we since
WDS is not an XP OS issue), and when we do they are referred to that group.
I don't see why you are having such a hard time with this. You have a
problem, don't you want to go to the best source for resolving that? I
don't know the answer to your issue, nor does anyone else that has wondered
this way, it seems. Do you go to a cardiac specialist for a proctology
issue too?

getting a reply are very slim. Seems your lack of understanding about this
concept is getting in the way of getting help. That's your problem, and

Rock, thank you very much for all the time you have spend in this
thread. I do hope you will take it the right way when I say that you
are essentially acting a bit like a busybody who has nothing to offer
in terms of directly solving my query but you can't resist offering
your own advice about how I might go about it to the point where you
want to keep insisting your method is the right one instead of
respting my right to make my own choice even if I do make the wrong
choice by your definition or the wrong choice in terms of
effectiveness.

Please respect my wish to raise this where I feel it correctly
belongs. And please do not feel that you must insist once again how
you know what I must do and I have no option but to follow your
insitence.

Now, I hope you can read my message the right way and not feel this
is some sort of argument which you either win or lose. If you
prefer, see it instead as respecting my right to learn from my own
mistakes.

Well, it does make me chuckle. Hard to understand why you think here's
where it correctly belongs, but in any event this is not a moderated
newsgroup. I have said in every post, do what you want to do - it's your
choice. If you want to hang out here hoping for an answer so be it. Maybe
you can pitch in and answer a few questions for other folks while you're
here. This is a peer to peer newsgroup. Everyone that posts here does so
