| Hi everyone, I'm a little bit confused. A short while after the release of WDS 3.0 a new version of the 2.6 series appeared (2.6.6, KB926356). Does this mean that that one should stick to 2.6 being the more mature one (besides having the capability to index more than one exchange server mailbox)? Many Greetings Michael | |||

I can not say anything on the earlier versions. But WDS 3.0 is essential for OneNote 2007 and Outlook 2007. V. 2.xxx will not work with these applications. Rainald | |||

| For Office 2007 integration WDS 3.0 is a good (only) way to go as well as for most home use 3.0 should work fine. For businesses or enterprise use you may want to stick with the 2.6.x version as it supports administration for group policies, can index network shares with out the add-in etc. 2.6.x is a solid product so if you have questions I'd say stick with 2.x. 3.x seems to work fine on the system I'm running it on, but that is a personal home system, if you need to administer WDS in a busisness scenario, I'd say stick wit 2.x until 3.x has these features completed. My 2 cents... hth J.R.
