| Can someone explain to me why WDS 3.0 RTW still won't index network shares? That's where all my documents are -- what good does it do me to index the junk on my local disk? Boy -- talk about frustrating. :-( All through the beta I heard "we'll have that for the final release" and now...nope, still no network shares. Looks like I'll be sticking with v2.65. Bummer. | |||

| >From the v3.0 Help: =================================== Set search locations By default, Windows Desktop Search indexes your e-mail files and files saved in the My Documents folder. However, you can have Microsoft Windows Desktop Search index other locations, including mapped network drives. To change which files are indexed: In the notification area of the Windows taskbar, right-click the indexing icon . Click Windows Desktop Search Options, and then click Modify. In the Change selected locations section, select the locations that you want, and then click OK. ================================== I mapped a network drive and it's still not showing up -- what am I missing??? 935m...@gmail.com wrote: > Can someone explain to me why WDS 3.0 RTW still won't index network > shares?
