Default Desktop To Do lists suddenly lose items

Hi there,
I have two computers and Google Desktop on both. I love the To Do list
feature and specifically the sharing between PC's feature where I can
have the same To Do list on both.

However, more than once I've noticed that suddenly one of the machines
will lose all my To Do list items while the other maintains them.

In my current state, my main PC has lost all the items in To Do and
scratchpad and my second PC is suddenly showing a much older list of
To Do items which have been mostly checked off before. It's almost
like I went back about a month and neither PC are sharing the lists
with each other.

Any ideas what causes this to happen and is there a way I can get my
lists back that I had yesterday since I had a lot of items on it that
I was tracking! :-(
