The toolbar does give you a short cut to google services and links. Though I have not downloaded it. But for those who does a lot of things in the internet from searching and other activities, I think it would be useful and it does make your internet life easy.

I use Google toolbar quite often because I need to do a lot of searches. One good thing about Google toolbar is when you are entering a keyword, Google will shows you some related keywords so you can do some quick search.

I have not heard of any problems with Google's toolbar, but it does acquire a lot of information about the user.

i had downloaded the google task bar before and my computer system crashed. after i got my system back up and running two days later after installing the google task bar i started to have problems in some of my programs knowing what i had just gone threw with my system crashing previously i did a system scan for virouses and it showed that the google task bar was highly conmtaminated so i removed it first from my system and did a complete clean. after the clean was done i went back to download the task bar and i say about an hour later i showed my system infected yet again. i did another scan and the first thing that came up once again was theg oogle task bar so now i do not use it any more. i did for a reason of putting it back on my system becuase i could not beleive that it was a system download from google that i was truly getting the infection but by doing what i did proved to me without a shaddow of a dought that it was indeed the google program that had the infection.

I've been using Google toolbar to but reading your posts make me decide to just delete it. Anyway, if ever they are tracking your activities in the internet, it is just to make their service better. Although yes it is a security/ privacy issue.

But keep this thing in mind that Google is also getting personal information and your nature of searches for them. With the help of Google Toolbar, google is able to getting information about the person who is using their Toolbar.

For me this one is really time saving and PR updation and backlink checker is the frequent short cut which I used too often. But I think when you download the spyware they have asked your permission to get the information. If you unchecked that than your information will not pass on to them.
