Cool How To Get Your Website Recognized By Google.

There has been countless discussions by people regarding this particular topic, yet the problem hasn't faded away. The concept isn't still clear to all.So I just felt to put in three simple steps that would help out the newbies and their websites.

Here are the points.

1)First, make sure that your web site mentions the phrases you would reasonably expect an interested party to search for, as regular text in your HTML, not as a picture of text.

2) Second, make sure that the major search engines know about your site. As of this writing, Google is by far the most important. You can add your site to Google using their Add URL page.

3) Ask the webmasters of related web pages and sites to link to your pages, and encourage your readers to link to your site. This will bring people in directly, and it will also allow search engines like Google to find you.

You also need to talk about
- keyword density (how many times the target keywords are included in the page)
- where the keywords are found <b>, <h1>, <h2> <strong> tags etc.
- keywords in the URL (filename)
Those are just a few on-page seo factors.

All you really need to do is your point #3, since if you have good* links pointing to your site, Google will find it. It is even arguably better to get a couple of links from respected (in Google's eyes) sites, and have google find you thru them, it might even help you avoid the sandbox.

Yep, linkage is one of the most important factors. Don't forget about the anchor text.

Can you explain why these tags are important rather than just using the keywords without the tags?

Cool

H1 and other headers are important. There are two primary areas of a Web page. The area contained between the <head></head> tags and that which is contained between the <body></body> tags. What information you place in these areas has a huge impact on how a page is indexed and, to a certain degree, what will appear in the SE results page. When designing your page, or placing content on your page, remember that spiders read like people. They go from left to right and from top to bottom (though this may be different for other languages.) They also feel that the most important information is located at the top of the page. If it’s important, why would you place it at the bottom? When reading specific tags (title, h1, h2, etc.) search engines value words to the left more highly than words to the right.

I think it is not important to get indexed by Google. I have seen some web Directories well Ranked but not indexed or maybe it was de-indexed later

Because Google gives more weight to words in those tags in their ranking algorithms.

I think Vilelink is suggesting that you don't need Google to get traffic - rather than get simply get ranked.

There are plenty of other ways to get traffic. But in a weird way, these will improve your rankings anyway. If you have links going to your website, Google will find you.

If you are talking about improving rankings, I agree with some of the original post, it's about making each page of your website say what it does. This article is a simple introduction: Making Better Web Pages

Another important thing is the quality of links added. Even one very powerful link might be enough for a top rankings in some cases while tens of minor links might not be helpful that much.
